Mobile Screening and Crushing recently announced the appointment of Matt Stone, who returns to the MSC team as operations manager

Having been in the industry for 23 years and being a qualified quarry manager, Matt brings a wealth of practical knowledge and a passion for screening and crushing equipment and processes. 

Matt shares his journey in his own words: "I began in the quarrying industry at the tender age of 15, starting with humble tasks such as operating a shovel and eventually progressing to become a watercart driver.

The allure of the massive machines and the intricate process of quarrying captivated me, fuelling my passion for the industry over the years.

"Despite being a high school dropout, I was determined to carve a path in this field, so with dedication and perseverance, I was able to climb the ranks, taking on various roles and responsibilities until I was presented with the opportunity to obtain a B grade quarry ticket, a daunting challenge at the time but one I was able to conquer.

"Subsequently, I pursued an A grade quarry manager’s certificate, marking 23 years of immersion in the industry. To this day, the sights, sounds, and smells of quarrying invigorate me, reminding me of the passion I have for the profession.

"Before returning to MSC as operations manager, I was tenured at Loadrite Ltd as their industry specialist, advocating for products that represented the practical needs of the industry.

One significant project involved revamping our scale systems to align them more closely to the operators’ perspective, making the scales more intuitive and efficient.

This role refined my ability to innovate and collaborate with clients to meet their requirements, an essential part of effective problem-solving in the industry and something that is integral to my current role with MSC."

A new chapter

Matt says, "Having achieved my goals in my previous role, I was drawn back to MSC by the allure of helping lead a reputable company and by the desire to make a meaningful impact.

 Having previously served as their hire account manager, I had witnessed firsthand the company’s potential for growth and their integrity in business was something that really resonated with me. 

"As the operations manager at MSC, I find immense satisfaction in orchestrating operations and ensuring the well-being of our field staff.
